Dr Emilia Molimpakis, PhD

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

A neuroscientist with a PhD and post-doc from UCL in linguistics, neuroscience and psychology, Emilia is one of fewer than 10 researchers worldwide working at that intersection and has spent a decade using language as a biomarker for cognition. A TED speaker and Fortune 40 Under 40 leader, Emilia co-founded thymia to turn that science into a product.

Dr Stefano Goria, PhD

Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder

A theoretical physicist who spent over 8 years as a quantitative analyst at J.P. Morgan and Citi, 17 years have been spent bringing cutting-edge mathematical models into production. A co-founder of thymia, Stefano leads the engineering and ML research teams, applying that work to one of the biggest health problems of our time.

Research Science

Alexandra Livia Georgescu, PhD

Senior Director of Science

A psychologist, neuroscientist and former Assistant Professor at King's College London, Alexandra manages external stakeholders; obtained grant funding and led studies on longitudinal voice biomarkers in depression and in shift workers, focusing on making health assessment more accessible. She now leads thymia's Science team and the clinical validation strategy behind its voice biomarker technology.

Agnes Norbury, PhD

Principal Research Scientist

A cognitive neuroscientist with computational psychiatry fellowships at the University of Cambridge, Mount Sinai and UCL, Agnes’ passion is improving health outcomes. She has built the clinical validity of thymia's depression and anxiety model, scaled its data set past 75,000 speakers and led the AI Quality taskforce. Her work sits where psychological science meets machine learning.

Elisa Brann, PhD

Senior Research Scientist

A cognitive neuroscientist and award-winning science communicator formerly at King's College London, Elisa has pioneered EEG integration into thymia's methods and designed its most complex real-world validation studies, from in-vehicle data collection to large-scale diabetes research. Elisa also built thymia's clinical advisor community.

Giedre Cepukaityte, PhD

Research Scientist

A cognitive neuroscientist trained at the University of Oxford with postdoctoral experience validating digital technologies for early dementia detection at UCL, Giedre now leads projects extending thymia's tools into new territory, including new geographies, automotive industry and physical health. Research that reaches real-world scale is of particular interest.

Ayla Pollmann, PhD

Research Scientist

A neuropsychologist with a PhD from King's College London, data scientist and postdoc in global digital health. Ayla has designed longitudinal and cross-sectional digital health interventions, evaluated wearable data for remote monitoring and developed risk and governance frameworks for responsible human-AI interaction. At thymia she works on wearable technology and conversational data collection.

Research Machine Learning

Owen Parsons, PhD

Head of Machine Learning Research

A cognitive neuroscientist with a PhD from Cambridge who has led machine learning teams across autonomous vehicles, healthcare AI and human-AI interaction, Owen now steers the technical direction of thymia's ML team. Work centres on model development, evaluation and interpretability, and on turning research into commercial impact.

Konstantin Shmelkov, PhD

Staff Machine Learning Researcher

A researcher with a PhD in mathematics and computer science and nearly a decade of experience across computer vision, generative AI and neuroimaging, Konstantin leads thymia's work on the audio representations underlying its vocal biomarkers and built the LLM voice agents running patient check-ins on NHS waiting lists.

Roseline Polle

Senior Machine Learning Researcher

An engineer with master's degrees from École Polytechnique, Imperial and UCL who audited AI systems at Holistic AI, Roseline has developed a novel model that detects diabetes from speech and published several times at Interspeech. At thymia, the model capability is extended across clinical domains and languages, focusing on bias and interpretability.

George Fairs

Senior Machine Learning Researcher

An engineer and cognitive scientist by training, George has helped design, train and evaluate thymia's core biomarker models and contributed to clinically publishable research. Work spans the full model lifecycle, from experimental design and validation through to production, keeping models at the bar clinical use demands.

Luis Miguel San Martin Fernandez

Data Scientist

A physicist with 4 years of computational research across astronomy and healthcare, Luis has built the data pipelines behind thymia's research and the company-wide dashboard used daily across the organisation, and delivered the production thresholds that flag poor-quality recordings. His work turns raw data into something the company can act on.

Engineering

Martin Clode

VP Engineering

Formerly Director of Engineering at Cazana and Head of Engineering at Cazoo following its acquisition, Martin has spent a career in AI start-ups taking concepts from first idea through to production. At thymia, the engineering team is led across data, product and platform, working closely with the ML and science teams.

Jack Gammon

Principal ML Ops Engineer

An ML Ops engineer with over a decade across the machine learning and software lifecycles, Jack has productionised thymia's data products and built the MLOps platforms behind its larger-scale systems. The role works between the engineering and ML teams, keeping research models reliable in production.

David Bruton

Senior Software Engineer

A software engineer with over 8 years experience across the full stack, David has built thymia's real-time voice AI agent systems and Lyra, its audio streaming and analysis server, and led the infrastructure and security work behind its SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance. His work is focused where real-time voice meets AI.

Greg Martin-Pavitt

Senior Full Stack Engineer

An engineer who built BAFTA-winning broadcast software at ChyronHego and medical imaging systems at Perspectum in Oxford, Greg has strengthened the backend and frontend of the platform behind thymia's assessments and contributed to its voice agent technology. The focus is reliability at scale.

Danny Buckley

Frontend Engineer & Product Designer

A product designer and engineer with 7 years' experience and one of thymia's longest-serving team members, Danny led the front-end and design of multiple thymia products and now leads the company's rebrand for a new generation of thymia. A passion for pushing what an engaging mental health experience can be drives the work.
